Hmailserver add users from domain1/23/2024 I didn't realize there were so many ways to skin that cat. Then a script forwards from the hmailserver catchall to individual mailboxes on hmailserver. Then set up a catch all at gmail that auto forwards to a catchall at hmailserver. The reverse of that idea is to have all incoming mail delivered to gmail. You can also control whether message submissions for addresses that are not local and are not hosted on GMail are rejected at GMail (hMailServer Administrator > Protocols > SMTP > Routes > route-name > Delivery > Deliver to all addresses) or if hMailServer is "aware" of which mailboxes are hosted on GMail locally (hMailServer Administrator > Protocols > SMTP > Routes > route-name > Delivery > Deliver to addresses below).Īnother option is to replicate the gmail addresses on hmailserver and have gmail retrieve messages via pop3 from hmailserver. If the message is addressed to a address that is also local mailbox, hMailServer will deliver it locally, if it is not, it will relay the message to GMail. Set the MX record for to deliver all mail to hMailServer. What is the use case for these 20k users? Why so many users when there are only 20 on the gmail domain?Īnother option is to configure hMailServer with a local domain (hMailServer Administrator > Domains > Add.) for and a route (hMailServer Administrator > Protocols > SMTP > Routes > Add.) for pointing to the GMail mail exchange. I know there are hmailserver installations out there with that kind of volume, but I'm sure they're expert email admins with very customized and streamlined systems/networks/etc. ![]() There will be no user on hmailserver registered to google email for business. We are looking at about 20000+ users on the hmailserver, is it possible to have that configuration? they will not be registered user on google for business and only exists in the hmailserver? Thank you for replying, I now understand the scenario which i need to do.Įxample, google domain has 20 users hmail server and when i can configure the smtp delivery, etc. Then, in hmailserver, go to settings > protocols > SMTP > delivery of email and enter and your auth credentials. Everyone accepts mail from gmail.įirst, go to your gmail admin settings and enable relaying coming from your hmailserver ip. hosted on hmailserverĪlso, since you have paid gmail accounts, you can route your mail through and you won't have to worry about reputation, etc. However, if you make the hmailserver domain a subdomain of the gmail domain then you'll receive mail in both places. You'll never be able to receive mail for users you set up on hmailserver. Its not going to work using the same domain as the one hosted at gmail because your mx records for that domain point to gmail. ![]() I already have setup the local and it is sending locally but I cant seem to find guides on how I can configure hmailserver to send emails from the website/server to external. We own the website/domain/azure server and it already has its own email provider for the domain (google email for business), but we hit a dead end when we want to give our users there own email account for communication as it is expensive to buy per users per year.
